USA Today Names Kansas City’s J. Rieger & Co. One of Country’s Best New Attractions

Kansas City distillery J. Rieger & Co. has been named one of the country’s Best New Attractions. A panel of experts partnered with USA Today/10Best editors to nominate the Top 20, and the Top 10 winners were determined by popular vote. J Rieger & Co. placed fifth in the overall standing, and was the only alcohol producer in the country to make the distinguished list. 10Best.com provides users with original, unbiased and experiential travel coverage of top attractions, things to see and do, and restaurants for top destinations in the U.S. and around the world.

This outstanding result recognizes the successful opening of the new J. Rieger & Co. distillery and spirits destination in Kansas City’s historic Electric Park neighborhood. The working distillery is located in a 60,000 square-foot facility that once housed the pre-Prohibition Heim Brewery bottling facility. The renovation of the building includes a hosts of new hospitality experiences, such as: education and tours; multiple full-service cocktail bars and lounge spaces; a personalized whiskey bottling station; and a 4,000-square foot Kansas City historical exhibit. There is even a custom-engineered 40-foot slide to ferry guests down from the second-floor Monogram Lounge to the first floor. Within the first six months, an estimated 80,000+ guests have visited the distillery. Attendance for distillery tours has surged since last summer’s opening, with over 3,000 tickets sold.

“As a brand who just poured its soul into our forever home, it is thrilling to receive this national recognition for how revolutionary and visitor-friendly our facility is,” says Andy Rieger, president & co-Founder of J. Rieger & Co. “There has never been a better time to discover our city, and we are proud to serve as a top destination for visitors from all over the country and close to home.”
