Old Dominick Distillery and Partners Launch COVID-19 Fundraiser

Old Dominick Distillery, members of the Old Dominick Family and Staff, Athens Distributing of Memphis, TricorBraun, and Champion Promotion have come together to raise spirits in the Memphis, Tennessee, community and raise funds for the Welcome to Memphis’s COVID-19 Fund managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis.

Beginning April 17, $5 from every Old Dominick bottle sold at participating Memphis area liquor stores will be donated to the Welcome to Memphis COVID-19 fund to directly support hourly workers in the hospitality industry who have lost employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Welcome to Memphis COVID-19 Fund, managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, is disseminating financial assistance to hourly workers in the local hospitality industry who have been terminated or furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible applicants include hourly employees of hotels, restaurants, bars, tourist attractions, convention services and tour operations in the Memphis area.

“We are so grateful to Old Dominick for truly ‘raising spirits’ as well as much-needed funds for our hardworking Memphis hospitality professionals,” said Mary Schmitz, executive director at Welcome to Memphis. “The hospitality industry has been especially hard-hit by the economic realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this program will go a long way in helping to fill financial gaps for workers until restaurants, bars, hotels and other hospitality venues reopen.”

“These are unspeakably difficult times for all of our friends in the hospitality industry,” said Chris Canale, president of Old Dominick Distillery. “While no one of us can alleviate all of the hardships being endured in our city, the Raise Spirits program is a creative way that Old Dominick can leverage its business to help our community,” mentions Canale. “I am grateful that we have some ability to help those in need, and I am also inspired by our partners and our employees, many of whom are personally contributing to this cause.”

The Raise Spirits fundraising program will begin Friday, April 17 and continue through May 31. Old Dominick Gin, Memphis Vodka, Honeybell Vodka, Memphis Toddy, and Huling Station Bourbon Whiskey are the applicable spirits for this program. 750mL bottles only.
