St. Petersburg Distillery Launches Sunset Gin

A ray of liquid sunshine has just hit the shelves, in the form of St. Petersburg Distillery’s newest offering, Sunset Gin. Made with real Florida oranges, peeled and processed in house, the new Sunset Gin is a perfect extension of the distillery’s popular Tippler’s Liqueur that uses the same fresh Florida citrus. Sunset Gin is a classic London dry gin crafted with seven botanicals, including juniper, coriander and green cardamom, angelica root and licorice root. With no sugar added, and no artificial colors or flavors, the 86 proof Sunset Gin is bright, refreshing and delicious.

“During these challenging times, it was important to us to create a quality product that would allow us to share a taste of our fabulous Florida sunsets with the world,” said Skip Ragan, Senior Vice President of St. Petersburg Distillery. “As a craft distillery, we’re able to dedicate the time and resources necessary to make these products all natural, providing a truly unique and local experience for those near and far.”

St. Petersburg Distillery’s Assistant Distiller and gin specialist Clara Robbins worked for months creating an orange gin that is free of the artificial flavors and colors commonly used in most orange gins on the market. Robbins felt a simple and classic London dry gin would pair well with the strong orange component, allowing the orange to shine through. “The overall flavor profile consists of degrees of strength of juniper, citrus, floral, heat, spice, and herbal. The botanicals we selected pair well on their own to make an incredible gin, but really enhance the flavor with the addition of the orange,” added Robbins.

Sunset Gin is sold in 750 ml ($30) and is available at now at the distillery’s pop-up tasting room and market store. In early 2021, the gin will be available throughout Florida at ABC and Total Wine, as well as many restaurants and independently owned liquor stores in the state. In addition to Sunset Gin, all St. Petersburg Distillery spirits and special edition batches can be sampled and purchased along with merchandise at the pop-up market store located at 855 28th Street South in St Petersburg. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Orders may also be placed securely through the distillery’s online market place, which offers no-touch pick-up at the pop-up tasting room.

St. Petersburg Distillery proudly produces the brands Old St. Pete, Banyan Reserve, Oak & Palm – which includes rum, whiskey, vodka and gin. They are also home to Tippler’s orange liqueur made from real Florida oranges. For more information on St. Petersburg Distillery and upcoming events, visit StPetersburgDistillery.com or follow the company on Instagram or Facebook.
