Garrison Brothers Distillery is proud to announce a new line of Small Batch bourbon infused cigars created by PAYNE-MASON Cigars. The partnership marks the first of its kind for Texas’ first legal distillery with the cigars to be sold online and at the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas.
Using the finest rare, aged tobacco from around the world, the new cigar line is comprised of authentic 100% hand-made cigars by PAYNE-MASON’s Cuban master rollers. This custom line includes one bourbon infused Flagship Cigar, along with three additional, non-infused cigars, blended specifically to pair with the characteristic of the four bourbon expressions.
Garrison Brothers and PAYNE-MASON worked together to identify the exact blends of PAYNE-MASON’s long-leaf tobaccos that would seamlessly accompany Garrison Brothers’ handcrafted bourbon. They then took it to the next level by infusing Garrison Brothers’ whiskey directly into one of the cigars and further aging it in a used white oak Garrison Brothers barrel at the Payne-Mason headquarters. The Garrison Brothers line launching today consists of three varieties of PAYNE-MASON’s Toro offerings and the one-of-a-kind Torpedo Garrison.
“Garrison Brothers Bourbon is the best in the world, and when paired with a PAYNE-MASON Cigar, you will be well rewarded,” said Andy Tincher, bourbon evangelist, Garrison Brothers Distillery, in a press release.
The Torpedo Garrison is infused with Garrison Brothers’ Small Batch Bourbon, wrapped in 6-year aged Dominican Corojo and features a complex combination of Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. It completes its aging process in used 4-year old empty Small Batch Bourbon Barrels resulting in a decadent aromatic experience with notes of nutmeg and vanilla on the nose, rich vanilla white cake on the palate, with soft bourbon influence. As inspired by its infusion, this cigar is intended to be paired with the classic Garrison Brothers Small Batch.
The new line is rounded out with the Toros which are individually paired with specific Garrison Brothers bourbon expressions. The Toro Golden is silky smooth and creamy with a nutty finish in a 5-year aged Connecticut Shade Grown wrapper. The mild-bodied cigar is best paired with Garrison Brothers’ HoneyDew bourbon. The Toro Barber is slightly spicy, complex and nutty and features a combined 5 year aged Connecticut Shade Natural wrapper and 6-year aged Dominican Corojo wrapper. The medium-bodied cigar is meant to be paired with Garrison Brothers’ Single Barrel. The Toro Maduro is meant to accompany Garrison Brothers’ ‘bourbon candy in a bottle’ Balmorhea. The full-bodied cigar offers a complex character with a smooth chocolate and coffee finish and a dark 8-year naturally aged, rich and oily Maduro wrapper.
A portion of the proceeds of these cigars go to Good Bourbon for a Good Cause. Good Bourbon for a Good Cause (GBGC) is a 501c3 public charity founded by the employees and owners of Garrison Brothers Distillery. The primary philanthropic goals of GBGC are to support worthy veteran’s causes, Texas parks and open spaces, and healthcare and support for furloughed hospitality industry workers.
