The Toasts Not Tariffs Coalition, 48 associations representing the entire three-tier chain of the U.S. alcohol industry—which includes the American Craft Spirits Association—sent a letter this week to the Chairs of the White House National Economic and National Security Councils urging the immediate removal of all U.S., EU and U.K. tariffs on distilled spirits and wines imposed in connection to unrelated trade disputes.
The letter was addressed to Brian Deese, assistant to the president for economic policy, and Jacob Sullivan, assistant to the president for National Security Affairs. It follows a similar letter in April that was sent to U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
