Inc. magazine announced that Tattersall Distilling was once again named to its annual Inc. 5000 list, a ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. This marks Tattersall Distilling’s third consecutive year receiving this honor, acknowledging the continued rapid growth of the company at 88% this year. Tattersall is the only Minnesota-based distillery on the list, and is one of just six distilleries included. Additionally, it’s the only distillery to be named to the list three years in a row.
“Receiving this honor for the past year is perhaps the most rewarding yet, given such a challenging time for the world,” said Jon Kreidler, founder and chief officer of Tattersall Distilling, in a press release. “We feel fortunate for the support of our community and fans that continue to accelerate our business, even while making a number of changes.”
Earlier this year Tattersall announced the expansion of a 75,000-square-foot destination distillery in River Falls, Wisconsin, opening this fall. A number of new spirits were released in the past year, including two ready-to-drink bottled cocktails, Manhattan and Cosmo Bianco, two bottled-in-bond bourbons and a limited edition whiskey commemorating Voyageurs National Park. In the coming months, new spirits will be released. Additional distribution was added on both coasts as Tattersall continues to grow its footprint across the country.
The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Not only have the companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but this year’s list also proved especially resilient and flexible given 2020’s unprecedented challenges. Among the 5,000, the average median three-year growth rate soared to 543 percent, and median revenue reached $11.1 million. Together, those companies added more than 610,000 jobs over the past three years.
“The 2021 Inc. 5000 list feels like one of the most important rosters of companies ever compiled,” said Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc., in a press release. “Building one of the fastest-growing companies in America in any year is a remarkable achievement. Building one in the crisis we’ve lived through is just plain amazing. This kind of accomplishment comes with hard work, smart pivots, great leadership, and the help of a whole lot of people.”
