In the spirit of the giving season, New Riff Distilling is kicking off its Gift of Warmth campaign to support the St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati annual coat drive and its goal of distributing 4,000 coats to those in need across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region this winter.
“It’s something that our entire team believes in,” said Hannah Lowen, vice president of operations and general manager of New Riff Distilling, in a press release. “We love the warm feeling we get from a sip of rye whiskey and from giving back — and with this initiative, we’re doing both in a literal sense, by fundraising for St. Vincent de Paul’s winter coat program. Moreover, we’re proud that our customers continue to support a big part of New Riff’s mission — improving our little corner of the world.”
The distillery will host a series of donation events beginning with a drive-through coat drive at New Riff, 24 Distillery Way in Newport, from 12-3 p.m. Nov. 14. Additional events will be held at locations in Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Louisville in November and December. Coats will be available for customers to purchase and donate to St. Vincent de Paul. New and gently used coats, hats, gloves, mittens and scarves can be brought to donate as well. Customers can keep warm with New Riff’s rye hot chocolate and samples of the distillery’s products. Visit New Riff’s Facebook page for participating events.
New Riff Distilling will also support St. Vincent de Paul’s coat drive by donating $1 from very bottle of specially marked Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey sold at the distillery and select liquor stores throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio throughout the remainder of the year. Consumers can look for the bottles of New Riff Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey wearing the festive holiday coat hang tag at area liquor stores.
For more than 150 years, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has compassionately cared for those in need throughout Northern Kentucky. Their annual coat drive collects new and gently used coats, hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to distribute to local families in need this season.
