Angel’s Share, the seminal Japanese cocktail bar founded in 1993 in New York City that helped usher in the craft cocktail movement, is pleased to announce a summer speakeasy at Hotel Eventi beginning June 1.
Angel’s Share at Hotel Eventi, as the pop up is being coined, is a collaboration between LTH and Angel’s Share owner Erina Yoshida to provide a temporary home for the famed speakeasy. Angel’s Share recently closed its doors on April 1 after nearly three decades of service and will once again serve loyal patrons and cocktail savants from the heart of NYC’s NoMad neighborhood.
“We are thrilled to partner with Hotel Eventi, our temporary new home for Angel’s Share,” said Erina Yoshida, owner of Angel’s Share. “We look forward to welcoming all to our intimate space where we can showcase our craft and hospitality.”
Angel’s Share at Hotel Eventi will reprise its lauded cocktail program in yet another unexpected space that will serve as a coveted destination for guests seeking the bar’s legendary tipples and precision service. The speakeasy is fully operated by the Angel’s Share team. Similar to how izakaya Village Yokocho led to Angel’s Share, the hotel’s cocktail lounge The Vine will act as a portal to Angel’s Share at Hotel Eventi.
“It’s essential that we as hospitality professionals take care of each other in this challenging yet rewarding industry,” said Chris Lauber, Director of Operations at LTH. “When we heard Angel’s Share was looking for a temporary home, we jumped at the chance to collaborate and welcome the entire team to create an incredible moment in our space.”
While the famous mural of cherubs that hung above the original bar will not be making an appearance, a homage to the iconic painting will be in place, as a high-resolution image of the painting will be broken up into several frames to make a collage. The mural will be highly recognizable from afar, and guests will discover details in individual frames up close.
Guests can expect a cocktail menu that is reflective of the recent bar program, and the speakeasy is retrofitted with specific equipment tailored to the Angel’s Share team, including custom freezers to execute the iconic ice program.
Angel’s Share at Hotel Eventi is open 5 days a week from Tuesday to Saturday from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
