High West Launches its First Bottled in Bond Whiskey

Park City, Utah-based High West Whiskey is releasing its first Bottled in Bond whiskey.

High West Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey exemplifies High West’s craft whiskey-making techniques and processes by adhering to the rigorous quality standards set by The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 – the nation’s first consumer protection law that protected people from drinking tainted whiskey. 

Crafted at the High West Distillery, this whiskey is aged for a minimum of four years in a federally bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof.

  • Mash Bill: Blend of 80% rye and 20% malted rye
  • On the nose: Toasted brioche with spiced pear jam, oatmeal raisin cookies, English toffee, sweet rock candy, lavender flowers, dried ginger
  • Tasting notes: Cooked apples with sage, toasty edge of a sugar cookie, fresh grated nutmeg, cinnamon candies, cacao nibs, juniper spice
  • Finish: Subtle coconut caramel, center-tin pie crust, wildflower honey
