Spirits Veteran Unveils Whipped Cream-flavored Whiskey

Wine and spirits veteran Rene Armas, in collaboration with Blue Spirits Distilling of Cashmere, Washington, announces the release of Whiplash Whiskey. According to Armas, it is the world’s first whipped cream-flavored whiskey.

This original blend, first released in January, was created for both whiskey lovers and bartenders alike, offering a sweet treat when sipped as a standalone spirit or a fun addition to all types of drinks, cocktails and shot occasions. Armas was part of the original Pinnacle Vodka brand team, which built the brand to nearly 3 million cases before selling it in 2012.

Speaking of Pinnacle, Rene said “One of the most exciting moments during the Pinnacle Vodka journey was the introduction of the Pinnacle Whipped Cream Flavor in 2010. It was an instant sensation and it shot to nearly 1 million cases in 15 months. Making it the #1 flavored vodka in the United States.”

Whipped cream is still a top 10 vodka flavor and still sells over 1 million cases today, done by just a handful of brands. “Whipped cream is such a fun and iconic American flavor, and it lands beautifully on whiskey,” said Armas. “Thus, Whiplash Whiskey was born.”

Whiplash Whiskey is currently available in 20 states (Florida, Colorado, Arkansas, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee, Washington, California, Nevada, South Carolina, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma). Whiplash Whiskey will be available in half the country by the end of August.

Initial consumer response has been exceptional, with nearly 15,000 cases sold in the first six months, and already demonstrating impressive repeat sales at this early stage in brand building and activation.”Whipped cream adds a touch of fun and nostalgia to every sip,” Armas notes.
