Uncle Nearest Launches Raise the Bar Mentorship Alliance

Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey has launched the Raise the Bar Mentorship Alliance, aimed at fostering the growth and development of emerging talent within the spirits industry. This initiative is designed to create a nationwide community that bridges the gap between seasoned veterans and new entrants to the industry. The program emphasizes mentorship over competition, aligning with the brand’s ethos of “Pull As You Climb,” which honors the legacy of Nearest Green and Jack Daniel’s relationship by continuing the tradition of hands-on education and mentorship.

The six-month program pairs industry veterans, such as Kate Gerwin, Tiffanie Barriere, and Chris Cabrera, with up-and-coming professionals based on their specific project goals or developmental needs. Participants will benefit from biweekly mentor-mentee check-ins, monthly mentor-program director check-ins, and regular group progress presentations. This structured approach ensures continuous support and growth for both mentors and mentees, with the ultimate goal of fast-tracking the mentees’ rise within the industry.

At the conclusion of the program, participants will present their work to key Uncle Nearest leadership, with two standout mentees receiving a $10,000 grant to further their projects. This initiative not only preserves the spirit of mentorship within the industry but also provides tangible support to the next generation of spirits professionals.

Raise the Bar is accepting applications until Sept. 5.
