Miracle Celebrates a Decade of Decking the Halls

This winter marks a milestone of mixing magic moments and toasting to festive cheer as Miracle, the original holiday cocktail pop-up concept founded by industry trailblazer Greg Boehm, proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary. Since its inception in 2014 at Boehm’s bar Mace on 9th Street in New York City, Miracle has redefined the season’s celebrations, setting the standard as the very first holiday-themed cocktail pop-up bar. With its whimsical blend of immersive décor, creative cocktails, and an infectious holiday spirit, Miracle has paved the way for a global trend that has transformed how the season is celebrated.

Boehm, the visionary behind Miracle and founder of premier barware brand Cocktail Kingdom and Cocktail Kingdom Hospitality, has been instrumental in shaping the cocktail and hospitality scene around the world since the early aughts. With his extensive background in the bar world and deep-rooted relationships within the industry, paired with his passion for innovation and commitment to quality, Boehm was uniquely positioned as the ideal person to bring this one-of-a-kind concept to life.

“We are extremely proud to celebrate 10 years of Miracle,” said Boehm. “It’s been an incredible journey seeing this concept evolve from a single pop-up to a worldwide phenomenon. Our success is a testament to the creativity and dedication of our team, as well as the unwavering support of our patrons. We look forward to continuing to spread joy and holiday spirit for many more years to come.”

In November of 2014, amidst ongoing construction for what would become award-winning cocktail bar Mace, Miracle on 9th in NYC opened its doors with abundant holiday decor and festive spirits. As crowds lined up to experience the magic, Boehm quickly realized this concept could be more than a singular event. With the help of Vice President and cocktail expert, Joann Spiegel, they soon spread the word to their friends in the hospitality industry, hoping to grow the Miracle family and bring this concept to life in their respective bars, spreading joy far and wide. The first  location to open outside of New York was Connecticut in 2015 and by 2016, the pop-up grew to states across the country with other long-standing bars in cities like Detroit, Seattle, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh, and now in its landmark 10th year, Miracle has grown into a global phenomenon that now approaches almost 200 participating partner locations across the world.

Miracle’s hallmark is its ever-evolving menu of imaginative and whimsical holiday cocktails, meticulously crafted by Joann Spiegel. With her 26 years of experience in the bar, restaurant, and hospitality industry, Joann has made it her mission to create drinks that immerse guests in the holiday spirit and capture the joy of the season. From her adaptation of the original Miracle cocktail, the Christmapolitan, which remains a menu staple to this day, to introducing exciting new creations year after year, Joann’s creative genius has helped to establish Miracle as the leading holiday pop-up bar.

“Being part of Miracle for nearly a decade, watching the brand grow, and seeing my cocktails bring joy to people across the world has been a highlight of my career,” said Joann Spiegel. “I’m thrilled to debut five new exciting Miracle cocktails for this milestone year. As no two years are ever the same, it’s best to get up close to see all the real magic each season and we’re looking forward to opening our doors again this November.”

Equally as renowned as the famed Miracle cocktails are the unique glassware they’re served in, which is proprietarily created by Boehm and his team at Cocktail Kingdom. These bespoke, themed glasses are designed to enhance the enjoyment of each cocktail, from a T-Rex wearing a Santa Hat, a Christmas Carol Barrel, and even a mug shaped like Santa’s Pants, the one-of-a-kind glassware are as imaginative as the drinks they hold, showcasing a range of holiday themes. Adding to the festive flair, Miracle introduces new mug designs each year, inspired by Joann’s newest menu additions. Available only at Miracle locations and sold exclusively through these venues, the iconic Miracle glassware has become a must-have for cocktail enthusiasts and holiday aficionados alike.

While plenty has changed since Miracle on 9th first opened 10 years ago, Miracle has remained true to quality cocktails, hospitality, and originality. This anniversary marks not only a celebration of the team’s passion and creativity, but of its community and memories created over the years.

This year, Miracle’s New York City flagship location, Miracle on 9th Street (at The Cabinet Mezcal Bar) will welcome guests to its winter wonderland starting November 1st. The cheerful spirit spreads to all Miracle locations and their sister concept, Sippin’ Santa nationwide and globally starting November 18th through December 31st.
