Virginia Distillery Co. Unveils Foothills Brewing Sexual Chocolate Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt

Lovington, Virginia-based Virginia Distillery Co. is proud to announce the latest addition to The Brewer’s Coalition range, a limited-edition series of American Single Malt whiskies finished in casks from renowned breweries across the country. The newest release is the Foothills Brewing Sexual Chocolate Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt, a whisky that embraces bold flavors by finishing in barrels that previously held Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based Foothills Brewing’s legendary imperial stout, Sexual Chocolate.

“We’re excited to expand The Brewer’s Coalition with a partnership that showcases another iconic beer from our neighbors in North Carolina,” said Gareth Moore, CEO of Virginia Distillery Co. “Foothills Brewing’s Sexual Chocolate is a fan favorite, and finishing our whisky in these barrels brings out an incredible depth of flavor. This release continues our mission to innovate within the American Single Malt category, and we can’t wait for people to try it.”

Virginia Distillery Co. works with top breweries nationwide, sourcing exceptional beer barrels to enhance its world-class American single malt whisky. This limited-edition release, influenced by the robust characteristics of Foothills Brewing Sexual Chocolate, comes from just 12 barrels. Made from 100% malted barley, the whisky is aged in premium ex-bourbon barrels for over five years before being finished in Sexual Chocolate stout barrels. Aromas of rich cocoa, espresso, and toffee merge on the palate with dark fruit, malted chocolate, and molasses. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), this expression captures the essence of Virginia Distillery Co.’s award-winning whisky while celebrating Foothills Brewing’s craftsmanship.

The Foothills Brewing Sexual Chocolate Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt will be released on Valentine’s Day and available in limited quantities online, at select retailers, and the Virginia Distillery Co. visitors center.
