In honor of the momentous 250th anniversaries of the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps, Bardstown, Kentucky-based Four Branches is releasing a special, limited-edition bourbon—The Continental, named after the U.S. military’s earliest formal organization, the Continental Army. According to the company, Four Branches is the only spirit brand founded by four veterans, one from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.
Four Branches’ mission is to honor those who have served and sacrificed. The intention in creating The Continental is to pay respect to the men and women who have served our country over the past 250 years. The founders have over 100 years of combined service and are committed to raising awareness and paying tribute to veterans and first responder communities.
“Serving our country was an honor and created a bond between us as founders and all the other servicemen we have worked with,” said Rick Franco co-founder of Four Branches Bourbon. “The Continental is a specially created bourbon worthy of this unique anniversary.”
The Continental was aged nine years and bottled at 102 proof with a mash bill of 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. It is a rich, deep amber color with an exquisite, complex taste with notes of caramel, honey, toffee and maple. It has a long finish with a creamy mouthfeel that is balanced with a slight oak dryness. It will be available via the Four Branches website on June 5 for $119 and then in select markets.
Four Branches is committed to giving back and supporting the veteran and first responder community. A portion of the proceeds of The Continental will be donated to veteran and first responder nonprofits including Folds of Honor and The Third Option Foundation.
