Wigle Celebrates Americana with New Rye Release, Opens ‘Stars, Stripes & Spirits’ Pop-Up

Wigle Whiskey has announced the release of its new Americana Rye whiskey and the grand opening of Wigle’s Stars, Stripes & Spirits, pop-up bar celebrating American craft and heritage.

Americana Rye, available starting June 25th, is a defiant nod to the birthplace of American whiskey – Western Pennsylvania. Before Kentucky became synonymous with bourbon, this region was the undisputed home of American whiskey, with rye whiskey leading the charge. This special release honors the frontiersmen who first transformed surplus grain into “liquid gold” in the Monongahela Valley, fueling an industry that helped build the young nation and even ignited the Whiskey Rebellion.

“With every sip of Americana Rye, you’re tasting history,” says COO Alex Moser. “This whiskey embodies the rebellious and entrepreneurial spirit of our region, and we’re thrilled to bring that legacy to life.”

Each bottle of Americana Rye is a true collector’s item, featuring incredible artistry by Pittsburgh’s own Kim Fox of Worker Bird. Customers can expect Wigle’s signature rich, complex rye whiskey with distinct notes of cinnamon and black pepper. Americana Rye will be available on Wigle Distillery and Ross Park Mall bottle shop shelves or online for shipping in Pennsylvania & DC beginning Wednesday, June 25th.

To further celebrate American craft and the Independence Day season, Wigle Whiskey is transforming its pop-up bar (2401 Smallman Street, PGH, PA 15222) into a vintage Americana dreamscape with Wigle’s Stars, Stripes & Spirits. Starting Friday, June 27th, and running every Friday and Saturday through July 12th, from 5-11 PM, guests can immerse themselves in an atmosphere adorned with classic flags, charming bunting, and nostalgic touches.

The pop-up bar will feature expertly crafted cocktails highlighting Wigle’s award-winning spirits, including the new Americana Rye Whiskey. Guests can also savor classic Independence Day bites like corn dogs and fried oreos, and enjoy vibrant live music every Saturday night by local musician Mike Dunn.

“We wanted to create a unique experience that goes beyond just fireworks,” adds Moser. “Wigle’s Stars, Stripes & Spirits is our way of toasting to the enduring spirit of American craft – a tradition we proudly carry forward. Join Wigle Whiskey in raising a glass to history, artistry, and the enduring spirit of American craft this Independence Day season.”
