Maverick Distilling proudly announces the release of its Samuel Maverick Four Grain Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a flagship single-barrel expression inspired by the whiskey Samuel Maverick crafted after his arrival in San Antonio in the mid 1800s. Distilled, aged, and bottled in the historic Lockwood Bank building, this six-year-old bourbon showcases the finest Texas-grown grain and the distillery’s commitment to craftsmanship, history, and place.
Released August 9 for distillery-only sales, this rare expression will be available for consumer purchase online and for wholesale distribution starting September 1, 2025. Suggested retail price is $56.
Bottled at 106 proof and non-chill filtered, the Samuel Maverick Four Grain Texas Straight Bourbon begins with deep caramel and cola notes before opening into layers of spicy vanilla. With a mash bill of 51% corn, 20% rye, 19% wheat, and 10% malted barley, the solid rye presence balances gracefully with the softness of wheat, while a subtle cinnamon finish leaves a lingering warmth and inspiration.
Each bottle is drawn from a single cask, with barrel codes designating origin: “L” for the subterranean Lockwood vault beneath the distillery, or “F” for the Fowler rickhouse located on the Maverick ranch.
