The Sierra Nevada distillery announces the release of its 4th and final bottling of Trapper’s Oath Rye Whiskey- 21 Year age statement.
“Nearly 4 years ago, we embarked on a whiskey aging and blending adventure with our first release of Trapper Oath rye whiskey,” says Nate Randall, Head Distiller/Blender/Owner of Hinterhaus. “It has proven to be one of the most memorable whiskeys we’ve yet had the pleasure of working with.”
The 3 prior batches have long since sold out, with rye whiskey and extra-aged whiskey enthusiasts patiently awaiting for the 4th bottling. The distillery worked with a carefully selected extra-aged rye whiskey (53% rye 47%) corn from Canada by extending its aging process at Hinterhaus’ 4000ft elevation in the California Sierra mountains.
“We age traditionally in our distillery’s non-temp controlled aging warehouse which enjoys 4 distinctive seasons and plenty of drastic temperatureswings throughout the year,” explains Hinterhaus co-owner Bonnie Boglioli-Randall. “We chose a road less travelled for this special rye byputting it into our own ex-bourbon casks which also aged stout beer for a nearby brewery for over 3 years.”
Trapper’s Oath 21 Year Rye will be available for purchase while supplies last at the distillery’s bottle shop, on its website for shipping, and at select retailers in CA through the LibDib distribution platform. Contact Hinterhaus for distribution inquiries.
