The Cedar Ridge Distillery, under the direction of Master Distiller Murphy Quint, has released its Annual Double Barrel Bourbon and Double Barrel Rye Expressions. Both will be available on November 7th.
While both releases are limited, the Double Barrel Bourbon and Double Barrel Rye are available nationally at retailers, at the distillery and online.
“This is one of the most anticipated releases we work on each year,” says Murphy Quint. “Both releases show off our Iowa whiskeys in a unique way and shine the spotlight on our finishing technique,” he added. Both the Double Barrel Bourbon and Double Barrel Rye were finished in second New American Oak Cask.
Annual Release Double Barrel Bourbon
The mashbill of the Double Barrel Bourbon is 74% corn, 14% rye, and 12% malted barley. Murphy and his team transfer the Cedar Ridge Flagship Iowa Bourbon into a second, new American oak barrel. The resulting spirit is 105 proof or 52.5 % ABV. The MSRP is $59.99.
Limited Release Double Barrel Rye
This limited-edition release starts with Cedar Ridge Straight Rye Whiskey that is poured into a second, new American oak barrel. The freshly charred oak staves enhance the already bold qualities of the distillery’s unique rye.
The mashbill of the new limited-release double-barrel rye is 85% rye, 12% corn, and 3% malted barley. The Double Barrel Rye is 105 proof or 52.5% ABV. The MSRP is $59.99.
