Copperworks Distilling Co. introduces Copperworks Arette Tequila Cask American Single Malt Whiskey – a limited-edition release available only through the Copperworks Whiskey Club, marking the distillery’s continued collaboration with the esteemed Tequila Arette de Jalisco.
Copperworks and Arette collaborated on a tequila cask finished American Single Malt Whiskey (Special Release No. 037 (2021) and a Gin as well a few years ago.
Special Release No. 037 proved so popular that the distillery sourced additional Arette casks to continue the partnership.
Copperworks Arette Tequila Cask American Single Malt Whiskey
Copperworks Arette Tequila Cask American Single Malt Whiskey was crafted using the distillery’s signature Five Malt recipe and matured for five years and seven months in a refill American Single Malt Whiskey cask before finishing for one year and nine months in an Arette Tequila cask–more than double the finishing time of Special Release No. 037.
“This collaboration with Arette represents a partnership we’re thrilled to continue,” said Copperworks President and Co-Founder Jason Parker. “After the success of Special Release No. 037, we knew our Whiskey Club members would appreciate this exclusive, extended-aged expression.”
“The extended finishing period allowed us to explore new depths of flavor,” added Copperworks Co-Owner and Vice President Jeff Kanof. “This whiskey showcases how patience and quality casks can create something extraordinary.”
Tasting Notes
Dropped pine needles, spruce tips, and firewood lead the nose, followed by crème brûlée, Turkish delight, and a light menthol. On the palate we are met with woody cedar, moss, and more trace menthol, along with a sumptuous blend of agave, French toast, nag champa, and snap pea. On the finish, we are left with a lingering trace of mole, jalapeño and lemon oil.
