After being named Best American Single Malt at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards, Virginia Distillery Co. continues its momentum with three new limited offerings: two additions to The Brewer’s Coalition series and the debut of VDC First Cut Cigar Blend.
The Brewer’s Coalition 4 Hands Madagascar Stout Cask Finish (Available Now)
Continuing the Brewer’s Coalition series, Virginia Distillery Co. has partnered with 4 Hands Brewing Co. in St. Louis, Missouri, to finish its American Single Malt in Madagascar Stout barrels.
Just six barrels were sourced for this limited edition. Aged more than five years in premium ex-bourbon barrels before finishing, the whisky opens with aromas of juicy raspberries and lemon curd cookies. The palate reveals layers of dark chocolate raspberry cake, roasted pecans, and warm ginger snaps, culminating in a finish of dark cocoa and raspberry cola. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), it showcases the indulgent character of Madagascar Stout.
A Cask Strength Select version of the 4 Hands collaboration will also be available in limited quantities at 4 Hands Brewing Co. in St. Louis.
The Brewer’s Coalition North Coast Old Rasputin Stout Cask Finish (Available March 2026)
Another addition to The Brewer’s Coalition series, this expression features a partnership with North Coast Brewing Co. in California, finishing Virginia Distillery Co.’s American Single Malt in Old Rasputin Stout barrels.
Just eight barrels were sourced for this release. Made from 100% malted barley and aged in premium ex-bourbon barrels for over five years before finishing, it delivers aromas of almond kringle and honeycomb, followed by bright citrus zest, dark chocolate, and malty hops. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), it is both robust and refined.
Cigar Blend American Single Malt First Cut (Available March 2026)
Virginia Distillery Co.’s First Cut Cigar Blend is an American Single Malt crafted specifically to pair beautifully with a fine cigar.
Made from 100% malted barley and aged a minimum of seven years in an imaginative blend of Spanish Oak, Sherry, Port, STR, Château Palmer Cabernet, Armagnac, Cognac, and Fino casks — with a whisper of smoke from Islay casks — this expression offers aromas of red berries and leather that deepen into rich walnut and date cake, candied lemon peel, allspice, and clove. The finish lingers with dark chocolate and subtle smoke.
Bottled at 108 proof (54% ABV), First Cut represents one of the distillery’s most complex and contemplative releases to date.
