Revelton Distilling Co. Announces Limited-Release Simple Majority Rye Whiskey, a Patriotic Tribute to Bipartisan Cooperation.
Revelton Distilling Co., Iowa’s international award‑winning craft distillery, announced the upcoming release of Simple Majority Rye Whiskey, a limited‑edition expression crafted by Co‑Founder, CEO, and Master Distiller Rob Taylor, inspired by his years as a member of the Iowa state legislature.
“You may or may not know that I’m a recovering politician,” said Taylor with a grin. “When I was in public office, I was so frustrated that Democrats and Republicans so often refused to work together. But here’s what I discovered: we actually accomplished more under a simple majority in the Iowa legislature than we ever did when either party held a supermajority — because a simple majority forces both sides to come to the table.”
That insight became a whiskey.
Simple Majority Rye Whiskey is a deliberate blend of two grains that—like two parties—must find common ground: 51% rye and 49% corn. The rye brings character, spice, and structure; the corn contributes smoothness and approachability. Together, they produce what Taylor describes as “a beautiful harmony — very unique, easy to enjoy.”
The expression is bottled at 100 proof in homage to the 100‑member Iowa House of Representatives in which he once served, and each bottle is individually numbered and hand‑signed by Taylor.
“Our Liberties We Prize, Our Rights We Maintain” is prominently displayed on the label, rendered in the distillery’s signature patriotic palette of red, white, and blue—making Simple Majority an ideal tribute to the Fourth of July.
Simple Majority Rye Whiskey is a limited release. Bottles are expected to be available beginning in June at liquor retailers across Revelton’s distribution footprint. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
