Swilled Dog Helps Pets Impacted by Hurricane Helene

Upper Tract, West Virginia-based distillery Swilled Dog recently sponsored a rescue mission with Pilots To The Rescue, a nonprofit that coordinates with rescue and adoption facilities to find space for dogs and cats who have been abandoned or returned to animal shelters by their previous owners. Nearly 50 cats and dogs were flown from Asheville, North Carolina, to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation in Manassas, Virginia, giving them a second chance at finding loving homes for the holidays.

“This rescue mission comes at a critical time, and we’re honored to help animals impacted by Hurricane Helene find safety and a fresh start,” said Swilled Dog CEO Brooke Glover. “Supporting meaningful causes is at the heart of Swilled Dog, and it’s inspiring to see how our community’s love for our craft spirits directly contributes to making a difference.”

Every year, approximately 920,000 homeless pets are euthanized in the United States (390,000 dogs and 530,000 cats), primarily due to a lack of space.

“We’re incredibly thankful to Swilled Dog for sponsoring this special holiday mission to help adoptable pets find loving homes,” said Michael Schneider, founder and Top Dog of Pilots To The Rescue. “Swilled Dog’s inspiring model lets you support animal charities with every purchase, making a difference one sip at a time.”

Swilled Dog combines its passion for exceptional craft beverages with a commitment to giving back, supporting causes like animal rescue missions that make a meaningful impact.

Animal advocate and influencer Kyle Thomas, one of the most popular UK content creators on TikTok with 34.7M followers, joined the flight.

The BISSELL Pet Foundation provided coordination support for the mission which was also sponsored by CUDDLY.
