Copperworks Distilling Co. Unveils Special Single Cask Release for Craft Malt Month

In celebration of Craft Malt Month this September, Copperworks Distilling Co. is proud to release a special bottling– Craft Malt Month 2025 American Single Malt Whiskey. Copperworks will donate $10 from every bottle sold to the Craft Maltsters Guild, supporting its mission to sustain and promote craft malting traditions across North America. The Guild created Craft Malt Month to spotlight the connection between local agriculture and craft beverages, an ethos fully embodied in this limited Copperworks release.

“This whiskey is a single cask we held back from the lot used in our first-ever Farmsmith release, which won gold earlier this year at the American Craft Spirits Convention,” said Copperworks President and Co-Founder Jason Parker.

Distilled from Baronesse barley, known for its exceptional quality and rich, malty flavor, grown at Joseph’s Grainery (Colfax, WA) and malted by LINC Malt (Spokane, WA), this release (referred to behind-the-scenes as Single Cask No. 484) reflects the heart of the craft malt movement, local sourcing, strong farmer partnerships, and artisanal quality.

Craft Malt Month 2025 American Single Malt Whiskey started its journey alongside the eight casks used in Copperworks’ Farmsmith release. While those casks were bottled after an initial maturation, this lone barrel continued aging. The result is a whiskey with remarkable depth and character that stands apart from its medal-winning siblings.

“At 4 years and 9 months, well over a year longer than the Farmsmith casks, this expression truly shows how extended maturation enhances complexity,” said Copperworks Distilling Co. Vice President and Co-Owner, Jeff Kanof.

Tasting Notes from Copperworks Distilling Co.’s Jason Parker and Jeff Kanof:

The nose offers pie crust, raspberry cheesecake, and candied orange, mingling with fresh wood and amber oil. On the palate, black cherry, dried mango, and orange marmalade complement coffee cake and cornbread, with a touch of ginger and light florality. A nuance of sweet cream laces the finish: a journey of freshly treated leather and sandalwood meeting black walnut, lemon custard, and grape must, finally leaving us with a trace of herbal cherry.
