Bluegrass Bitters Launches Black Walnut Bitters for the Holidays

Bluegrass Bitters has announced the release of its Black Walnut Bitters, the third product added to the brand’s lineup of uniquely curated cocktail bitters and syrups. The Black Walnut Bitters joins the 5-Spice Orange Bitters and Smoky Simple Syrup that launched this summer. The Louisville-based Kentucky Proud certified brand brings this newest cocktail enhancement to customers just in time for the holiday season. 

“The Black Walnut was the toughest recipe to crack, with over two dozen different recipes being tested before deciding on this version,” said founder Shawn Herbig. 

Customers can expect deep, rich earthy notes when adding these bitters to cocktails. The Black Walnut Bitters incorporate real black walnut and a complement of baking spices to create a complex and aromatic flavor, Herbig notes. 

“These bitters are best suited for old fashioneds, Manhattans or holiday ciders, but also work well with other dark spirits and make an outstanding bitters and soda when added to ginger ale,” said Herbig.
