Just in time for holiday cheer, Copperworks Distilling Co. introduces Copperworks Pondera Cabernet Cask American Single Malt Whiskey a limited-edition release celebrating the distillery’s partnership with award-winning, family-owned boutique winery, Pondera Winery.
Copperworks Pondera Cabernet Cask American Single Malt Whiskey was crafted using pale malt and matured for over seven years in a refill Copperworks cask before finishing for six months in a Cabernet Sauvignon cask from Pondera. The cabernet cask previously held a gold award-winning wine that scored 92 points from the Seattle Wine Awards in 2019.
“This collaboration with Pondera represents exactly what we love about this area,” says Copperworks President and Co-Founder Jason Parker. “Two craft producers from neighboring cities, Kenmore and Woodinville, coming together to create a must-taste whiskey that celebrates our region’s exceptional quality.”
Tasting Notes
Caramel apple and incense cedar greet maraschino and woodland flora on the nose, a subtle vanilla underlying every stage of the tasting experience. On the palate, leather and fresh linen mingle with cabernet grape and chocolate orange, key lime pie and crushed Douglas fir tips giving way to the finish. Finally, cotton candy and vetiver linger while you ready your next sip.
