Quartz Mountain Distillers and Pomeroy Cellars Unveil Limited Syrah Finished Rye Whiskey

Quartz Mountain Distillers of Vancouver, Washington, is proud to announce an exciting new collaboration with Pomeroy Cellars of Yacolt, Washington, bringing together two local producers united by a passion for craft, quality, and innovation. The result is a limited-release Syrah Finished Rye Whiskey, a bold and elegant expression that highlights the best of both distilling and winemaking.

This unique rye whiskey began its journey at Quartz Mountain Distillers, where it was carefully distilled and aged to develop a solid foundation of spice, structure, and character. The whiskey was then transferred into freshly emptied Syrah wine barrels from Pomeroy Cellars in Yacolt, allowing it to finish and mature with rich layers of dark fruit, subtle tannins, and nuanced wine-driven complexity.

“The opportunity to collaborate with Pomeroy Cellars was a natural fit,” said Randy Kyle, VP of Quartz Mountain Distillers. “Their Syrah barrels brought an incredible depth and balance to the rye, enhancing it without overpowering its original character. This is a whiskey that truly reflects both crafts.”

Pomeroy Cellars, known for producing expressive and terroir-driven wines, was equally enthusiastic about the partnership. By finishing the rye in their Syrah barrels, the collaboration showcases how wine and whiskey can intersect to create something entirely new while honoring the integrity of each process.

The Syrah Finished Rye Whiskey offers notes of warm baking spice, ripe blackberry, dark cherry, and a smooth, lingering finish making it equally enjoyable neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation for elevated cocktails.

This release is extremely limited and will be available exclusively through Quartz Mountain Distillers and select locations. Whiskey and wine enthusiasts alike are encouraged to secure a bottle early.
