Sponsor Spotlight: A Chat with Adam Spiegel of Freebrook Distribution & Imports

Freebrook Distribution & Imports is a modern spirits distribution platform built to help emerging brands enter and grow in the California market. We combine warehousing, logistics, and sales support into a flexible, transparent model that gives brands real-time visibility and control over their business. With a low fulfillment margin and optional fractional sales support, Freebrook offers a more efficient, brand-aligned alternative to traditional distribution.Adam Spiegel, Managing Director of Freebrook, is a proud supporter of the 2026 ACSA Convention. We’re grateful to Freebrook for sponsoring this year’s convention efforts and helping us elevate the attendee experience.

What does being a sponsor of ACSA mean to you personally—and how do you see your role in shaping the future of craft spirits?
Adam Spiegel: Being a sponsor of the American Craft Spirits Association is personal to me. I’ve spent my career in this industry, and ACSA has always brought together the people who truly care about craft spirits. Supporting it is a way to give back to a community that shaped how I think about quality, transparency, and building something real.
At Freebrook, our role is to help level the playing field. The traditional system serves a small percentage of brands, while most craft producers need a path that offers visibility, control, and real access to market. We focus on connecting great producers with sales execution, clear data, and flexible options so they can grow on their own terms.
I believe the future of craft spirits will be defined by independence, authenticity, and smarter routes to market. Our role is to help more brands succeed.

What do you see as the greatest challenges for craft spirits producers, and how does your company help craft spirits producers navigate those global and domestic market pressures?
The biggest challenge for craft spirits producers is getting to market in a meaningful way. The system is built for scale, not for emerging brands, which makes it difficult to secure attention, maintain margins, and build real velocity at retail and on premise. At the same time, rising production costs, increased competition, and global pressure on pricing make it even harder to stand out and stay profitable.
At Freebrook, we focus on solving the access and execution problem. We provide a sales-forward model that connects brands directly to accounts, gives them real-time visibility into inventory and orders, and allows them to stay in control of their business. Instead of forcing brands into rigid structures, we offer flexible paths that align with where they are in their growth.
Our goal is to give craft producers a clearer path through both domestic and global pressures by combining distribution with actual sales support. When brands understand what is working, where they are selling, and how to adjust in real time, they are in a much stronger position to compete and grow.

What innovations or product developments from your company are most exciting for craft distillers right now? What’s most exciting right now is not a single product, it’s a new way of bringing products to market.
At Freebrook, we are focused on rethinking distribution as a tool for growth rather than a gatekeeper. That includes a more flexible, transparent model where brands can choose how they go to market, whether that is self-directed sales or plugging into a shared sales team. We pair that with real-time inventory and depletion visibility so producers can actually understand what is happening in the market and adjust quickly.
One of the most impactful innovations is our fractional sales model. Instead of requiring a full-time team or waiting for attention inside a large portfolio, craft distillers can access targeted, boots-on-the-ground sales support in key markets. This allows smaller brands to compete more effectively and build real relationships with accounts without overextending their resources.
We are also excited about blending traditional distribution with more modern pathways, including direct-to-consumer strategies and more agile fulfillment. The goal is to give craft producers more control, better data, and faster feedback loops so they can make smarter decisions and grow sustainably in a very competitive environment.

How do you support sustainability or community-driven initiatives within the craft spirits ecosystem?
Sustainability and community in craft spirits start with how we choose to operate as partners. At Freebrook, we support sustainability by helping brands move products more efficiently and with better visibility. When producers have real-time insight into inventory and demand, they can produce smarter, reduce excess, and avoid unnecessary storage and transportation. A more efficient system is a more sustainable one.
On the community side, our focus is on supporting the people behind the brands. We work closely with craft producers, bartenders, and retailers to create real connections in the market, not just transactions. That includes hands-on sales support, market feedback, and creating opportunities for brands to build relationships that lead to long-term success.
We see our role as strengthening the craft spirits ecosystem as a whole. When more brands have access to the market, better information, and a fair path to growth, the entire community benefits.

What role does technology and/or e-commerce play in your strategy to support distillers?
Technology plays a central role in how we support distillers. We give our partners real-time visibility into inventory, orders, and account activity so they can see exactly what is happening in the market. That level of transparency allows brands to make faster decisions, adjust strategy, and stay in control of their business. We also use technology to streamline the path from producer to retailer. Order processing, fulfillment, and communication are built to reduce friction and improve execution. The goal is to remove guesswork and create a more predictable operating environment.
E-commerce is an important extension of that strategy. We work with many of the leading e-commerce partners and ensure product moves from suppliers to those platforms at one of the most cost-effective rates in the industry. This gives brands efficient access to consumers while maintaining strong alignment with their broader distribution strategy.
