Baltimore-based Sagamore Spirit is bringing back its popular Distiller for a Day program, opening its doors to whiskey lovers looking for a chance to immerse themselves into the world of rye whiskey.
Now in its second year, Sagamore Spirit’s Distiller for a Day program will give one fan a chance to work alongside a team of distillers at the brand’s world-class, Baltimore-based distillery. With opportunities to see and learn to do everything from cooking the rye, corn and malted barley grains, to turning that mash into a “white rye” in Sagamore Spirit’s 40-foot, mirror-finished copper column still, the experience is a rare opportunity to have a direct role in whiskey making.
This year’s program will run even longer and engage fans right at the source of their whiskey purchase: in stores.
Starting today through June 30, 2024, any whiskey fan of legal drinking age can visit a participating retail store location and scan a QR code visible on program signage to be directed to an online entry form. One fan will then be randomly selected to win the overnight experience including transportation to and from Baltimore and accommodations, along with a plus one of their choosing. The entry form can also be accessed via Sagamore Spirit social channels.
“When we launched this program last year, it was the first time we had a chance to stand side-by-side with some of our biggest fans and show them exactly what we do here. It was a no-brainer to bring it back, bigger and better than ever,” said Ryan Norwood, Sagamore Spirit’s COO. “Whether you’re an aficionado or newcomer, our team of distillers are the best to learn from – and will guarantee you return home with a new skill, good whiskey, and an experience you’ll never forget.”
