Pennsylvania Pure’s Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka Recognized by Ultimate Spirits Challenge

Pittsburgh-based Pennsylvania Pure Distilleries announced today that its multi-award-winning spirit, Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka, has been ranked the number one vodka and number four overall spirit in the second annual Ultimate Spirits Challenge Top 100 Spirits list, beating out 96 global brands.

The roster goes beyond vodka, ranking the very best in class entries from USC 2020 across brandies, whiskey, scotches, gins, tequilas and more, making the placement all the more coveted. As just one of four vodkas privileged to make the Top 100 Spirits cut, Boyd & Blair placed far and beyond its closest category competitors in the number four slot, with brands like Belvedere trailing more than twenty ranks behind.

The Ultimate Spirits Challenge is a yearly evaluation and recognition of high quality spirits and beverages worldwide. In its fifth year as a contender, Pennsylvania Pure Distilleries has continued to prevail with top ratings for its flagship spirit, Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka, as well as its BLY Silver Rum that was ranked #75 on the Top 100 list. Both spirits stood apart from a record number of entries from over 45 spirit-producing nations. Each spirit respectively took the number one slot in their individual spirits categories earning Chairman’s Trophies in this year’s competition.

“As a five-time Ultimate Spirits Challenge award-winning brand, we are honored to continue to garner such high accolades from the most prestigious competition in our industry,” said Barry Young, cofounder and master distiller of Pennsylvania Pure Distilleries. “I’m thrilled to improve our ranking and be named the 4th best spirit overall. For me, it’s all about flavor. I make what I want to drink. My philosophy is not going to change and I am proud of this recognition that reflects the hard work and dedication we continue to put into our spirits.”

Boyd & Blair was previously ranked as No. 30 on the inaugural list of USC Top 100 Spirits in 2019 and significantly increased its ranking by jumping to the No. 4 spot in 2020.
