Alpine Distilling’s Sara Sergent Celebrates Gin Guild Induction

Master botanical distiller Sara Sergent of Park City, Utah-based Alpine Distilling recently celebrated her induction into The Gin Guild, a prestigious, invite-only organization dedicated to the preservation and excellence of gin distillation. Sergent is the only U.S. female vapor extraction, London dry-style gin distiller to be accepted and inducted into The Gin Guild as a Warden Rectifier.

“It is a tremendous honor to join the esteemed Gin Guild, and I am humbled to be among the global leaders who are excelling in every facet of the gin industry,” said Sergent. “I am proud to represent the United States, Utah, and our exceptionally talented team at Alpine Distilling, and I look forward to expanding across the pond with our gin and botanical spirits.”

The Gin Guild was incorporated by the Worshipful Company of Distillers, one of London’s traditional Livery Companies, incorporated by Royal Charter in 1638. The Guild operates to protect, promote and invigorate the distillation of quality “London” Gin (“Gin”), in the U.K. and worldwide and brings together gin distillers and industry leaders all involved in the production, promotion, distribution and consumption of gin, to promote and encourage commitment to excellence in gin distillation and industry custodianship of the spirit category.

A selection of Sergent’s gins, including the Alpine Elevated Gin, are featured in the exclusive Gin Archive. The Gin Archive is a collection of gin brands supported by a private collection, including rare samples such as the Cambridge Distillery Watenshi Gin and the 1495 Verbatim and Interpretatio Gins. Accessed strictly by invitation only at a secret location, the Archive holds over 5,000 different gins from over 60 different countries spanning hundreds of years.

Under Sergent’s thoughtful leadership and expertise, Alpine Distilling has been named a 4-time winner of the USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards for Best Craft Gin Distillery. Her celebrated spirits include the flagship Alpine Elevated Gin, which was awarded “Gin of the Year” in London, the AngeVert Herbal Liqueur, which earned Double Gold at the SIP Awards and Best In Show at the International TAG Spirit Awards, and the Preserve Liqueur, which has received multiple Platinum, Double Gold, Gold, and Consumers’ Choice awards. Through Alpine Distilling’s invitation-only custom Gin Experience, the distillery says Sara has created more custom gins than any other distiller in history.
