Santa Fe-based Santa Fe Spirits recently announced the rebranding of its signature whiskey, now known as The Original Santa Fe Whiskey.
Formerly Colkegan, the new whiskey design showcases a new name, label and bottle shape but is still the same liquid the Southwest knows and loves. The updated bottle design features a taller, more refined silhouette while the label includes illustrations of a scenic landscape, evoking a sense of place and natural beauty inspired by the Santa Fe region.
The rebranding also includes a shift from the original name, Colkegan—named after the founder of Santa Fe Spirits—to The Original Santa Fe Whiskey. Over the years, the whiskey has established itself in the marketplace as a staple of the Southwest, and the distillery felt the previous name didn’t fully capture its essence. The new name not only speaks to the spirit of the Southwest but also aligns with the company’s vision for the future and the diverse portfolio it offers.
This rebranding emphasizes regional pride and authenticity, positioning the whiskey as a product that celebrates its heritage while appealing to both locals and those intrigued by the spirit of New Mexico
The Original Santa Fe Whiskey will be on the shelves in the distillery tasting room on Nov. 7.
