Tattersall Distilling Employees Vote to Unionize

A majority of employees at Tattersall Distilling in Minneapolis have voted to unionize, joining the hospitality workers’ union, Unite Here Local 17.

“We respect the decision of our employees and will bargain in good faith with the union,” says John Kreidler, founder and chief officer of Tattersall.

The Tattersall team says that the company has, over the past five years, worked “to build a collaborative, inclusive and safe workplace” and that the distillery is a place where every voice matters.

The company notes that the fairest approach was a secret ballot election supervised by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and that the decision was, ultimately, the employees’ to make.

“We’ve said it before but we want to reiterate that we love Tattersall,” the newly unionized workers posted on their Instagram account. “We consider this win another opportunity for Tattersall to be a leader in the industry; to be a catalyst of growth and progress for other establishments in and around our community.”
