Du Nord Craft Spirits of Minneapolis recently won big in The Fifty Best’s Best Liqueur awards, based out of New York City. The Café Frieda coffee liqueur and the Apple liqueur were both awarded double gold medals.
The judges described the palate of the Café Freida coffee liqueur as: “Fresh brewed coffee, fresh cold press coffee, great coffee flavor, roasted beans before brewing, espresso, a bit of mocha, Kahlúa, vanilla, cream, nice.”
The judges described the palate of the Apple liqueur as: “Fresh apple, ripe apple, applesauce, cold apple cider, baked apples, baked cinnamon apple, apple pie, sweet apple turnovers, apple danish, red apple skins, raisins, lemon, butter, pie crust, cinnamon, nutmeg, not overly sweet, liquid apple pie.”
