St. George Spirits Unveils Valley Gin

(Jason Tinacci)

St. George Spirits of Alameda, California, is introducing a new offering to its gin lineup. Made with 25 botanical ingredients, St. George Valley Gin is an ode to a perfect spring day in a California citrus grove.

Inspired by the bountiful citrus groves of the Central Valley, master distiller Lance Winters and head distiller Dave Smith wanted to capture the beauty of California orange blossoms in full bloom.

The 90-proof gin is made from 25 botanical ingredients. Fresh California orange blossoms lead the way, supported by angelica root, bergamot, caraway, fresh cilantro, California bay laurel, cardamom, coriander, fresh cucumber, fresh dill, dill seed, fennel seed, fresh ginger, grapefruit, juniper, lemon, lime, Malabar black pepper, nutmeg, orris root, pink peppercorn, Saigon cinnamon, Seville orange, star anise and Valencia orange.

On the nose, expect to find bright orange and lemon peel, soft orange blossom, juniper, cucumber and peppercorn. On the palate, orange petals come in first, followed by bright orange peel and cucumber on the mid-palate, with more blossom and petitgrain on exhalation.

The distillery recommends using Valley Gin in a Martini, Vesper, Gin & Tonic, Collins and Ramos Gin Fizz.

Initially, Valley Gin will be available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Texas and Washington, D.C.
