Copperworks Distilling Co.’s Single Cask No. 160-2 American Single Malt Whiskey

Copperworks Distilling Co. announces the release of Single Cask No. 160-2, a five-year-aged American Single Malt Whiskey and the distillery’s first-ever expression crafted with 100% Lyon Malt barley.

Single Cask No. 160-2 embodies Copperworks’ Farmsmith ethos*, celebrating Washington’s barley fields through single variety, single farm, single growing year barley.

The whiskey was crafted with 100% Lyon Malt from Horlacher Farm in Latah, Washington, and matured for five years in a refilled American oak cask that previously held Copperworks Peated American Single Malt Whiskey.

Lyon is a two-row barley varietal developed by Washington State University’s Agricultural Research Center specifically to thrive in Eastern Washington’s unique growing conditions. This terroir-driven approach creates distinctive flavor characteristics that set it apart from traditional malting barleys.

“Single Cask No. 160-2 showcases Washington’s agricultural excellence and the unique character that comes from working with local farmers,” said Copperworks President and Co-Founder Jason Parker. “This is our first Lyon Malt expression, and it’s already an instant favorite among our team. The nuance and complexity are remarkable.”

*Copperworks’ Farmsmith releases explore the impact of single variety, single farm, single growing year barley on whiskey character. By working directly with Washington farms like Horlacher Farm, the distillery showcases the distinctive terroir of the Pacific Northwest in every bottle.
