San Antonio-based Devils River Whiskey proudly introduces the Rye River Series, a 100-proof Texas straight rye whiskey crafted from hand-picked barrels. The first release of the Rye River Series pays tribute to the iconic Devils River in Texas in this ultra-premium collector series.

Devils River Whiskey is set to host a limited-release event for the Rye River Series on Jan. 24 at its San Antonio distillery. The brand will reveal Texas and national distribution plans later in 2024. Attendees at the San Antonio 5-Year Rye release event will have the opportunity to acquire the new expression before its retail release and meet co-founder Mike Cameron for personalized bottle signings.
Made exclusively from 100% Texas-grown grains, including brasetto rye, #1 yellow dent corn, and malted barley, the Rye River Series undergoes a minimum of five years of aging in new #4 charred American white oak barrels.
The Texas heat plays a unique and pivotal role, accelerating the aging process, resulting in a whiskey distinguished by its rich amber color and complex flavor profile. The nose features notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, English toffee, and sweet maple. The taste highlights buttery layers of roasted almond and allspice with a lingering oak. The newest expression delivers a full-bodied, pleasant, and lasting finish. The mash bill includes 51% rye, 45% corn, and 4% barley.
Devils River Whiskey has won over 60 national and international awards since its introduction in 2017. The new Rye Series joins a distinguished portfolio of ultra-premium whiskeys, including Devils River Distiller’s Select Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 120-proof, 60% ABV, and Devils River Single Barrel; proof and ABV vary based on the batch.
Devils River Whiskey’s offerings extend to the Devils River premium collection, featuring Devils River Bourbon Whiskey and Devils River Rye Whiskey, both 90-proof, 45% ABV, along with Devils River Barrel Strength, 117-proof, 58.5% ABV. The brand also recently expanded its flavored collection, including Devils River Cinnamon Bourbon Whiskey, Devils River Agave Bourbon Whiskey and Devils River Coffee Bourbon Whiskey, all 80-proof and 40% ABV.
