Barrell Craft Spirits Launches Two New Batches

Barrell Craft Spirits, a Louisville-based independent blender and bottler of unique, aged, cask-strength sourced whiskey and rum, recently launched two new, limited-release batches:

  • Barrell Bourbon Batch 023, a blend of 10, 12 and 15-year-old straight bourbon whiskies that were distilled and aged in TN, KY, and IN. This batch focuses on a balance of richness and depth from the older barrel. The blend mingled for a couple of months to heighten the lushness and complexity. The team layered in 15-year-old barrels to bring out notes of tropical fruit and Angelica spice. 107.78 proof. SRP $90
  • Barrell Rye Batch 003, a blend of Rye whiskies from Indiana, Poland, Tennessee and Canada, featuring a selection of 4, 6, and 14-year-old barrels, all with distinct personalities and varying ages. The team started with TN Rye barrels with caramel and dried fruit notes and added the Polish Rye for its nuttiness and mouthfeel. They then carefully layered in the 13-year Canadian Rye to bring out earthy notes. The Indiana Rye was the finishing touch and a balancing act. The team deliberately added one barrel at a time and alternated between 4 and 6 year barrels to highlight the candied fruit and spiciness you expect from a rye. The result is a complex Rye whiskey that evolves over time. 116.7 proof. SRP $90
